Crafted from a selection of consciously sourced materials with a focus on cotton, these Veja Wata Canvas Shoes have white organic cotton uppers and contrasting emeraude coloured ‘v’ rubber logos on each outer panel. Designed for unisex wear, the tongue is constructed from the same organic cotton material and a woven ‘Veja Wata’ label has been added at the top with blue coloured lettering. White cotton laces thread through silver metal eyelets and the heel has been reinforced on the inside for a robust, cushioned fit. The lining of this style is also organic cotton, whilst the insole is made from wild rubber mixed with synthetic materials. A trademark material of the brand, the sole is made from wild Amazonian rubber.
‘Wata’ meaning cotton in Japanese, indicates the focus of this simplistic unisex footwear style designed by Veja. Based in Paris with factories located in Brazil - where all of the styles are made - the brand came into the spotlight soon after launching in 2005, and their dedication to transparent manufacturing techniques has marked a new era for contemporary footwear design.
